So me and my youngest sister are watching One Piece together and we recently watched the Davy Back Fight. I seriously forgot that this was the first mention of Hachinosu. According to Robin, the Davy Back Fight was created on Hachinosu to allow pirates to basically have draft picks from each other.

Do you ever wonder what other crews may have used the Davy Back Fight? Did the Rock’s know about it? Did they use it? I wasn’t surprised that Robin knew about it, but I was surprised Sanji and Usopp both did too. Maybe Zeff told Sanji about it? Or Sanji learned a bit about it when ‘training’ in Germa as a child. You would think Nami may have heard of it from Arlong but then again Arlong probably never cared about those things.

I’m kinda glad that we don’t see other crews really using this. For many it’s probably just an outdated game that heavily relies on the participants to honor the rules. It honestly seems like if you don’t believe in Davy Jones then the only real punishment to not obeying the rules is a blow to your pride, which many other crews in the world of One Piece don’t seem to care about. Like can you really see Blackbeard or any of his crew honoring a Davy Back Fight?
